About UsThe Regional Resource Centre for Biotech and Healthcare is based at Kent Science Park to enable close links with industry (SME’s to Multinationals). The centre forms part of the SEEDA network of sector based resource centres. The centre is run by the International Institute of Biotechnology (IIB) and the Sittingbourne Enterprise Hub Ltd (SEHL) whose board and hub director were responsible for getting the project off the ground.
We focus on Biotechnology and Healthcare sciences but understand that related
courses are also required; our integral training facility, the Kent Science
Resource Centre, gives us the ability to offer technical training courses. This
facility can be used by any training provider(s) to deliver courses,
particularly to support the BioPharm Industry.
Legal Status:
The Regional Resource Centre for Biotech and Healthcare and the Kent Science
Resource Centre are both under the management of the International Institute of
Biotechnology which is a company limited by guarantee for biotechnology
education. Management:
The centre is run by SEHL but works closely with the local Borough Council (Swale
Forward) and the academic stakeholders
MidKent College
and the Gateway
Knowledge Alliance and other collaboration to deliver industry led
vocational led courses. Regional Resource Centre Objectives:
A focal point for linking, brokering, managing and developing partnerships with
employers, individuals and training providers engaged in accessing and providing
skills and labour to industry and engaged in ensuring the wider science,
technology, engineering and mathematics
(STEM)
agenda is promoted and supported across all ages and skill levels.
